Spend a creative day immersed in the timeless craft of willow weaving and discover how to make a truly eye-catching round basket with a twist — the beautiful asymmetric design.

Guided step by step by Jilly, you’ll learn how to weave a strong round base before exploring a variety of side weaves that give this basket its distinctive character. The day culminates in shaping the elegant asymmetric top and attaching a wooden handle, creating a piece that is both practical and wonderfully individual. You’re warmly invited to bring along your own favourite stick for the handle to make your basket even more personal. Ideally, it should measure around 12–15 inches long and approximately 2 inches thick. Straight or delightfully quirky — perhaps contorted willow or hazel — as long as it’s sturdy, it will work beautifully. If you’d rather not bring one, Jilly will have a selection ready for you to choose from.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll head home with a functional, handcrafted basket that’s sure to draw admiration. Perfect for storing small kindling, organising household treasures, or simply displaying as a natural statement piece, it will be a charming and useful addition to your home.
