Bring some colour into your life and come to a Block Printing Taster Workshop! Join Karené at this taster workshop where you will try out printing pattern onto textiles with hand-carved wooden blocks from India.
You will practice how to get the inking and the pressure just right by printing first on paper and then, once you have chosen your own combinations of colour and motifs, you will print these onto a white cotton tote bag. Karené has over 50 blocks/motifs and 12 colours to choose from for your design.
The process of block printing is calming and meditative, and at the same time there's something really satisfying and exciting about gradually seeing a pattern grow on your fabric.
All materials and tools are included in the cost of this workshop. Items must be heat set at home with an iron, before washing (instructions will be provided).
Tea, coffee and homemade cake are included.
