Want to learn modern calligraphy and write your favourite book quotes on bookmarks?

Join us for a 2.5 hour workshop where you will learn the essentials of modern calligraphy using a brush pen to create your very own hand lettered bookmark.

You will learn:

how to set up your space / hold pen and paper for comfort, the basic strokes that form letters, how to connect your breath with the pen strokes, practising writing the alphabet,, joining letters to form words, practise writing bookish quotes and phrases from books.

Using the techniques you've learned, you will then write your favourite quote/words on the provided bookmarks.

All material is provided and is yours to keep to continue your practice at home. Your calligraphy kit includes a workbook with practice sheets, templates and guidelines, 1 brush pen (small nib) and 3 blank bookmarks

No calligraphy experience is necessary for this workshop. The workshop is suitable for beginners and it doesn't require neat handwriting or drawing skills. You will be guided through the essentials of modern calligraphy with demonstration and 1-2-1 guidance.

Tea, coffee and homemade cake is also included.

If you need to cancel a workshop

We do not offer refunds however we are happy for you to transfer the ticket to someone else so that it can be used. Please advise us of any name changes in advance of the workshop.

If you contact us at least 7 days in advance of a workshop, then we can see if someone on the waiting list can attend in your place. In this instance we would offer you a full refund if someone on the waiting list takes your place.

Our right to cancel a workshop

On the very rare occasion that we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will give you as much notice as possible.

We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum attendance number has not been reached.

If we cancel the workshop you will be offered a full refund. Unfortunately we cannot accept liability for travel or other consequential costs.
