Come and immerse yourself in a world of pattern and colour at our ever popular Block Printing Workshop! Join Karené and learn about printing pattern onto textiles with relief blocks.
 
If you’ve been to a previous Block Printing Workshop, this gives you the chance to have another round of printing fun, creating something new and if you’re new to Block Printing this is for you too!
 
We will still use the hand-carved wooden blocks from India, to explore pattern repeats. You will learn how to get the inking and the pressure just right and then create your own combinations of colour and motifs. After printing onto a large sheet of paper for gift wrap, we will move onto the main project and print designs onto a large cotton apron, perfect to wear during craft activities or in the kitchen.
 
The process of block printing is calming and meditative, and at the same time there's something really satisfying and exciting about gradually seeing a pattern grow on your fabric.
 
All materials and tools are included in the cost of this workshop. Items must be heat set at home with an iron, before washing (instructions will be provided). Tea, coffee and cake is also provided. 
 
This workshop can be booked with the Lino Printing workshop on the same day, to make a full day of printing and learning different skills.  If both workshops are booked together (subject to availability), there will be a £10 discount using the code PRINT.
