Join us for a half-day of making an elegant, slim hardcover notebook with blank pages inside. You will learn how to stitch a two-section bookblock before we take our time to work on the covers. A selection of lovely decorative papers and book cloth colours for covering your book will be provided. If you have any particular favourite papers, you are welcome to bring and use them as long as they are a minimum size of around A3.

In this wet-glue process, you will learn how to measure and cut your cover papers, prepare and glue the spine and glue your bookblock into your casing. Please note that your book will need to rest under weights for 12-24 hours when you get home so the covers don’t buckle while the glue is drying.

With this workshop we are giving a meaningful second life to board offcuts and household food packaging which have been diverted from landfill and are perfect for the purpose. At the end of the workshop you will have made a smart, A5-sized hardcover for notes or sketching and know how to make more.

All materials and tools will be provided.

If you need to cancel a workshop

We do not offer refunds however we are happy for you to transfer the ticket to someone else so that it can be used. Please advise us of any name changes in advance of the workshop.

If you contact us at least 7 days in advance of a workshop, then we can see if someone on the waiting list can attend in your place. In this instance we would offer you a full refund if someone on the waiting list takes your place.

Our right to cancel a workshop

On the very rare occasion that we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will give you as much notice as possible.

We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum attendance number has not been reached.

If we cancel the workshop you will be offered a full refund. Unfortunately we cannot accept liability for travel or other consequential costs.
