Join us for a two-day willow weaving workshop with full-time basket maker Jilly Greig. Over the course of two enjoyable days, you’ll create your very own beautiful and practical willow log basket with inset handles to take home.
Jilly will guide you step by step — from making a round basket base and inserting the uprights, to using waling and randing weaves to form the sides. You’ll then learn how to craft the elegant inset handles before finishing off your basket with a neat border.
A little prior experience with basket making is helpful but not essential — if you’re crafty and keen to learn, you’ll do just fine! And even if you don’t have a log fire at home, your handmade basket will be perfect for storing toys, blankets, or just about anything else.
All material and use of tools included, along with tea, coffee and homemade cake.
