Come and join Edinburgh-based printmaker and bookbinder Ursula Pretsch for this creative and fun upcycled bookbinding workshop and learn how to make a handy A6-sized notebook from empty juice cartons.
We will start by stripping the juice carton to reveal a soft, velvety paper layer. Next, we will tear down our paper and fold signatures for the book block. We will measure and fold our upcycled cover materials as well as internal storage pockets to fit the signatures. After fastening the pockets onto the cover with a running stitch, we will insert our book block into the cover. Finally, you can add decorative elements to your notebook covers using a selection of stamps or decorative papers.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. All materials are provided along with tea, coffee and cake.
